As the principal consultant for my engineering design firm, Thesis Pte Ltd, I have faced numerous challenges in producing electronic hardware designs. The COVID-19 pandemic worsened things because it caused a shortage of parts, which meant that production files had to be changed often. At the same time, manufacturers and suppliers frequently suggest their changes based on the materials they could get. All these made it hard to stay on top of all the modifications. My team used to keep track primarily via email. However, the massive amount of emails we receive daily and the fact that we work on multiple projects simultaneously made it increasingly difficult. I knew there must be a better way. So, I made Tracelium, a solution that keeps track of the most recent production files and lets people share files securely and keep them private. With Tracelium, multiple people can work on the same files at the same time without making mistakes or causing confusion.
